Shiri Appleby was born on December 7, 1978, in Los Angeles, California, to Dina (Bouader), a Hebrew School teacher, and Jerry Appleby, a telecommunications executive. Evan is her brother. Her father is of Ashkenazi Jewish origin, while her Israeli mother is of Moroccan Sephardi Jewish descent. Shiri has been acting since she was four years old, appearing in ads for Cheerios, M&Ms, and Taco Bell. Her debut television appearance was on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984). Following that, he appeared in Thirtysomething (1987), The Bronx Zoo (1987), and Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989). Her cinematic debut was in the low-budget sequel Curse II: The Bite (1989). I Love You to Death (1990) followed, and Shiri's career as an actor began to take off. She worked continuously in television movies and made several television appearances over the following four years. She took a short gap in high school to participate in Yearbook Student Council and cheerleading. She graduated from Calabasas High School in 1997, when she was chosen Most Spirited by her classmates. Then came roles on 7th Heaven (1996) and City Guys (1997). Shiri then enrolled at the University of Southern California, where she planned to study English while taking a sabbatical from acting. Her intentions were derailed, however, when she was cast as Liz Parker in the WB/UPN blockbuster Roswell (1999). She therefore discontinued her degree and opted to pursue acting full-time. Shiri rocketed to fan-magazine stardom and was visible everywhere because to the popularity of Roswell (1999). Following the completion of Roswell (1999), he had minor roles in films such as The Thirteenth Floor (1999) and The Other Sister (1999) in 2002. In the dramatic teen thriller Swimfan, Shiri played Amy Miller, the trusting girlfriend of Jesse Bradford's Ben Cronin (2002). Later roles included the independent films When Do We Eat?
