Highland Hills United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, is led by Dr. Sheron C. Patterson. Dr. Patterson is a well-known Christian relationship specialist. Her wise counsel has been featured on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and Jet Magazine. Over one million people in 50 cities hear her Love Doctor program on the syndicated ABC radio format REJOICE on a weekly basis. Dr. Patterson is also the relationship expert for WFAA Channel 8's Good Morning Texas, which has a viewership of over 500000 people. A pioneer and advocate for women's development Dr. Patterson is a pioneer in numerous fields. She was the first African American woman to be ordained in the United Methodist Church's North Texas division. Dr. Patterson's outstanding achievements earned her a place of distinction in the National Women's Museum and the Elite News Religious Hall of Fame Museum, both of which are situated in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Patterson launched the Love Clinic in 1995, a modern Christian relationship institute committed to healing our community's wounds. The Love Clinic has produced seminars, a best-selling book, college tours, a teen summer camp, and a website since its start. Dr. Patterson has also written five books, including Ministry with Black Single Adults I Want to Be Ready. Unique Principles There's a Doctor in the House and New Faith in The Love Clinic. She also contributes columns to The Dallas Morning News. Her most recent book, The Love Clinic - How to Heal Relationships in a Christian Spirit, is a best seller in Essence magazine. Dr. Patterson's second project, A Mile In Her Shoes, was released by Abingdon Press in the summer of 2005. It is a six-week Bible study and film that focuses on lessons gleaned from six Old Testament women. Dr. Patterson has an undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, two Masters degrees, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, TX. Dr. Patterson is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and is married to Robert Patterson Sr. They have two boys, Robert Jr. and Christian.
