About Shanice
Shanice Biography
American R&B/pop-rock singer-songwriter and actress Shanice Lorraine Wilson-Knox, best known by her stage name Shanice, has been nominated for a Grammy. In 1991, she had Top 10 Billboard hit songs with "I Love Your Smile," "Silent Prayer," and "Saving Forever for You." When I Close My Eyes," another big song for Shanice, reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 1999. She is well known for her coloratura soprano voice and capacity for whistle-like singing. Wilson, who was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, moved to Los Angeles with her mother and aunt (Krystal and Penny), both of whom were aspiring musicians. They immediately gave up on their goal of becoming famous for concentrating their efforts on little Shanice. They established the management business, Krystal Penny,, to develop and market her abilities. At 9, Shanice co-starred in an Ella Fitzgerald and Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. She was frequently featured on the children's show "Kids Incorporated" in 1984. Shanice participated in "Star Search" at the age of 11. She was signed to A&M Records soon after her performance on "Star Search." At age 14, A&M Records issued her debut record, Discovery. The R&B songs "(Baby Tell Me) Can You Dance" and "No 12 Steppin'" both reached the top ten. In the summer of 1990, Wilson negotiated a contract with Motown Records. Inner Child, which featured her most well-known hit track,, "I Love Your Smile," was released in late 1991. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, reaching the top ten in 22 nations. The 1974 popular song "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton was also covered on the CD, highlighting her five-octave vocal range. After Inner Child, Wilson released albums, including 1994's 21... Ways to Grow, which he worked on with Earth Wind & Fire guitarist Dick Smith and producer Rhett Lawrence, a session musician from Los Angeles. After making this attempt, the artist transferred to LaFace Records, who issued the album Shanice in 1999. She hasn't had a lot of financial success with her later albums. Still, she has contributed to several movies, including Boomerang ("Don't Wanna Love You") and The Meteor Man ("It's for You"), with various songs. Wilson also found success with the "Beverly Hills 90210" soundtrack's top-ten single, "Saving Forever for You." Additionally, she collaborated with Jon Secada on the song "If I Never Knew You" for the Disney movie "Pocahontas," which debuted in 1995. Shanice occasionally provides background vocals for other musicians. She may be heard on songs by Toni Braxton, such as "Un-Break My Heart" and "Come on Over Here," as well as Usher, including "Bedtime." She contributed vocals to Michael's's's posthumous album track "Behind the Mask" in 2010 by singing. Wilson is not just a singer, but she is also an actress. In 1997, she made her Broadway debut as the first black performer to play Eponine in the hit musical "Les Misérables." Shanice also featured in the 2001 made-for-TV film "One Special Moment," which was based on Brenda Jackson's same 1998 novel. Wilson's fifth studio album, Every Woman Dreams, was released on her label, Imajah, following a five-year break (named for her two children). A Midnight Rendezvous, a song she just recorded for the 2012 Kinect rhythm game Rhythm Party, was released. She also sang "Love Is the Gift," the English version of the game The Bouncer's theme song.
