Shailee Basnet is a Nepalese-born pioneering mountaineer, motivational speaker, and stand-up comedian. Raised in a conservative society where sports were taboo for girls, she pursued mountaineering as a personal challenge despite having no prior experience. In 2008, at age 24 and 4'11" tall, she summited Mt. Everest as part of the historic First Inclusive Women's Summit Expedition.
As coordinator of the groundbreaking Seven Summits Women Team, Basnet led the world's first all-female group to scale the highest peak on each continent, including Mt. Elbrus and others. Featured on the BBC, ESPN, and PBS, and in the 2019 documentary “Les Belles Envolées”, her team earned White House honors and Nepal's presidential medal.
