Seth Rogen Biography

Actor, comedian and director Seth Rogen is of Canadian and American descent. While still a teenager, he started his stand-up comedy career. He was able to obtain a supporting part in the Judd Apatow television series Freaks and Geeks while still residing in Vancouver, his hometown. Freaks and Geeks were officially canceled after one season owing to low ratings not long after he relocated to Los Angeles for his part. Later, Rogen was cast in the comedy Undeclared, which also employed him as a staff writer. Apatow assisted him in pursuing a movie career when he was hired as a staff writer on the last season of Da Ali G Show. In Donnie Darko, a 2001 film, Rogen played his first acting role. Rogen appeared in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Apatow's first film as a filmmaker, in a supporting part, and was listed as a co-producer. After that, Universal Pictures consented to put him in the leading roles in Judd Apatow's movies Funny People and Knocked Up. In 2015, Rogen co-starred as Steve Wozniak in Universal's biography of Steve Jobs. In 2016, he collaborated on the Preacher television series for AMC alongside Sam Catlin and Evan Goldberg, his writing partner. Along with directing the first two episodes of the series, he works as a writer, executive producer, and creator. The movies Superbad, Pineapple Express, The Green Hornet, This Is the End, and The Interview—all starring Seth Rogen—were co-written by Rogen and Goldberg, who also directed This Is the End and The Interview. Additionally, he has provided the voice of Pumbaa in the 2019 version of The Lion King. He has also voiced characters in Horton Hears a Who!, the Kung Fu Panda film series, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Monsters vs. Aliens, Paul, and Sausage Party.
