Sasha Orloff Biography

LendUp's chief executive officer and co-founder are Sasha Orloff. The goal of LendUp is to offer everyone a way to improve their financial situation. The firm creates technology, credit products, and educational opportunities for the expanding middle class—the 56% of Americans excluded from traditional banking because of lousy credit or unstable income—that didn't exist previously. It has created loans worth more than $1 billion. LendUp is supported by more than $325 million in debt and equity funding from renowned venture capital and social impact investors, including Y-Combinator, Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, Victory Park Capital, and Yuri Milner's Startfund. LendUp has offices in San Francisco, California, and Richmond, Virginia. With the Citigroup consumer credit team before starting LendUp, Orloff had risk management, finance, online acquisitions, and customer analytics positions. He most recently held the position of senior vice president on the venture capital team. Orloff formerly held positions at The World Bank and the Grameen Foundation Technology Center. He has an MBA from Georgetown University and a B.S. in applied math and economics from the University of California, San Diego.
