Sasha Chanoff Biography

The founder and executive director of RefugePoint, Sasha Chanoff, has worked for 20 years on resettlement and pariah relief projects in Africa and the US. Sasha identified displaced people in danger, carried out rescue missions, and worked with the International Organization for Migration throughout Africa before launching RefugePoint. She also spoke with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Kenya and worked on evacuee assurance issues with the US, Canadian, Australian, and other governments. Sasha has extensive experience working with many populations of displaced people, including Sudanese Lost Boys. In addition, Liberians and Sierra Leoneans are at risk, along with Somali Bantus and Congolese Tutsis. He has appeared on the hour just like other national and international TV, radio, and print news sources. He has also addressed, introduced, and delivered keynote addresses at colleges and international displaced person gatherings, and he has widely disseminated information on issues affecting outcasts. Sasha earned her bachelor's degree in English from Wesleyan University, and her master's in humanitarian assistance from the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, both affiliated with the Tufts Feinstein International Famine Center. His focus at the Fletcher and Nutrition schools was on the NGO's board morals and compassion, which served as a compassionate guide in challenging crisis sustenance and confined relocation. Chanoff is a recipient of the Charles Bronfman Humanitarian Prize, the Gleitsman International Activist Award, and affiliations with Ashoka, the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, and Echoing Green. He is a consultant to a private human rights organization and a member of the New England International Donors' steering board of trustees. He also serves as a consultant for the vital movie and the Good Lie Fund, which supports charitable causes.
