Sarah Haskins Biography

A Chicago, Illinois native, Francis W. Parker School in Chicago's Lincoln Park, where Sarah Haskins attended. She graduated from Harvard College in 2001 and was a member of "The Instant Gratification Players," a comic satire group. As a self-described liberal and women's activist, she has discussed in interviews the various traditional and new roles that women in the modern world must fulfill, including taking on new roles as career women and financially independent individuals while continuing to cling to antiquated stereotypes about the ideal woman and her role in a traditional society. At Harvard University, Haskins studied American literature and history. She began improvising as a student at Harvard with a group known as the Instant Gratification Players, or IGP. This fueled her passion for satire. Before relocating to California, Haskins spent a significant amount of time doing improvisational and sketch comedy at I.O. (ImprovOlympic) Chicago as well as with the Second City National Touring Company. She documents her arguments and lore as Francis Parker, a spontaneous creation of Tina Fey as Chicago Katharine Graham.
