Her debut book, The Best of Friends: Two Women, Two Continents, and One Lasting Relationship, is a joint memoir with wildlife cinematographer Ginger Mauney for National Geographic and PBS. Through the prism of their 30-year relationship, which supported them and gave two small-town Southern ladies the confidence to follow their strange hobbies, it examines their learning curve in life.
