Sami Atiya leads the robotics and motion division of ABB Ltd. From June 13 until December 2016, Atiya was the head of ABB Ltd's discrete automation and motion division. He worked at Siemens for 18 years in the US and Europe. From 2008 to 2011, he was also the chief executive officer of the mobility and logistics business and the computer tomography unit. Previously, he held several executive positions with Siemens Business Services and Siemens Medical Solutions Inc. in the US. Throughout his tenure, he fostered profitable growth and expanded his units' product and software portfolios using organic and inorganic methods, successfully integrating Invensys rail. Before working for Siemens, Atiya was a project manager for Robert Bosch GmbH and co-owner and managing director of Harald Balzer & Partner.
