Actor Sam Heughan is well-known for his prominent appearances in the Starz TV series Outlander (2014–2021), A Princess for Christmas (2011), and A Very British Sex Scandal (2007). In addition, Heughan has continued to star in movies and television shows, including Bloodshot, SAS: Red Notice, and The Spy Who Dumped Me (2020). He graduated from Glasgow, Scotland's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is also the president of Bloodwise Scotland and a passionate supporter of Youth Theatre Arts Scotland and Bloodwise (formerly Leukemia and Lymphoma Research) (2015). In addition, Heughan has received two honorary doctorates, the first from the University of Stirling in June 2019 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to acting and charitable endeavors and the second from the University of Glasgow in July 2019 in recognition of his artistic success and charitable work.
