Sally Light worked in the NHS for several years and had a varied clinical and managerial career. She was a part of the management team that helped Barnsley Hospital become a foundation trust in 2005. She was invited to join the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in 2006, where she worked for 3.5 years to implement NHS lessons into the city's healthcare system and enhance patient flow. Before joining the MND Association in December 2012 as Chief Executive, Sally returned to the UK in 2010 and served as the Director of Rehabilitation at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. This national medical charity treats patients who have suffered severe brain injuries.
