Ryan Higa is an actor, YouTuber and comedian famous for his hilarious videos on YouTube. From 2009 to 2011, His YouTube channel, nigahiga, was the most subscribed channel on YouTube for 677 days consecutively and at the 6th Shorty Awards, Higa was nominated for Best Video Blogger. In 2016, Higa co-founded Ninja Melk, LLC which premiered an energy drink in 2019. The drink took three years to develop and was named after Higa's short film also with the same name. Higa uploaded a stop motion short film on his Youtube channel on October 19, 2019, to promote his drink. In 2016, Ryan Higa created a parody K-pop band, inspired by the all female band, Girls Generation, called BgA which stands for Boys Generally Asian with David Choi, Phillip Wang, Jun Sung Ahn, and Justin Chon. Their first song was called Dong Saya Dae and had over 16 million views on YouTube and peaked at Number 2 on the official K-pop charts for iTunes. In 2017, BgA released their second song Who's It Gonna Be, and it was more commercially successful compared to the first song and reached Number 1 on the K-pop charts. Higa published his memoir, Ryan Higa's How to Write Good, in 2017. Higa also endorsed Andrew Yang for his 2020 Democratic nomination for president. Higa studied nuclear medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas but dropped out later to create online videos.
