Ruzwana Bashir was the first British-born woman of Asian descent to become President of the Oxford Union and was later a Fulbright Scholar at the Harvard Business School. Bashir worked in private equity at the Blackstone Group and in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London. She then worked at Gilt Groupe and was part of the founding team at Art.sy in New York. In 2004 Bashir was nominated for the Woman of the Year Award by publishing house MinervaIn 2012 she was reported as being founder and CEO of the Peek.com a travel company based in San Francisco California. Bashir was named one of Forbes 30 under 30 in technology in 2012. Ruzwana was also selected as Silicon Valley's Most Stylish in Vanity Fair and as one of the most powerful women in technology.
