Ron Robinson Biography

The president of the Young Americas Foundation is Ron Robinson. Robinson has been active in conservative college issues for three decades, according to USA Today. According to Time magazine, the Young Americas [F]oundation, which is led by Ron Robinson, a former Reagan Administration adviser, is now the country's largest advocacy group devoted to student politics. Robinson has been described by Time as one of the right's seasoned generals, heading a diverse and well-funded generation of conservatives who are winning fights on campus. Young Americas Foundation is spearheading the conservative push to win the hearts and minds of impressionable college-age students, according to Insight Magazine. Indeed, the Foundation sponsors so many events on so many campuses that it's impossible to find a conservative activist under the age of 30 who hasn't heard of it. Robinson oversaw the Foundation's efforts to save Ronald Reagan's Western White House, Rancho del Cielo, as well as two successful landmark Supreme Court victories for student rights, the inauguration and development of the National Conservative Student Conference and the National High School Leadership Conference, both of which are held annually in Washington, and the Foundation's effort to save Ronald Reagan's Western White House, Rancho del Cielo. The Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara County, the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, and the Foundation's national offices in Herndon, Virginia are among the Foundation's facilities. Robinson is a Buffalo, New York native. He graduated from Canisius College with a bachelor's degree in political science and The Catholic University with a Juris doctorate. He was the executive director of Young Americans for Freedom from 1977 to 1979, the president of the United States Youth Council from 1983 to 1985, and the president of the International Youth Year Commission from 1985 to 1987. (1983-84). During the Reagan administration, he also served as an advisor to the US Department of Education. Robinson was a trustee of the Philadelphia Society and is now a trustee of The Phillips Foundation, as well as a director of Citizens United, the Citizens United Foundation, and the American Conservative Union, and vice-president of the Free Speech Defense and Education Fund. He also sits on the boards of the D.J. Findley Family Foundation and the Strong Charitable Trust. Mr. Robinson is the co-author of Funding Fathers: The Conservative Movement's Unsung Heroes and has been on Firing Line, C-American SPAN's Perspectives, ABC's Person of the Week, FOX and Friends, MSNBC, CNBC, and FOX News, among other shows. He is a fellow of the Supreme Court Bars of Virginia and the United States. Robinson lives in Reston, Virginia, with his wife. They are the parents of three sons.
