Robert Traynham has been a part of the Washington political landscape for almost fifteen years, and during his time in government, he was routinely recognized as one of the most prominent employees on Capitol Hill. He has vast expertise with both presidential and senatorial political campaigns, having worked extensively with Congressional leadership as a top communications professional. Traynham became the Washington DC Bureau Chief for the cable channel The Comcast Network (CN8) in 2007. Traynham serves as a commentator and analyst for CN8's original programming as well as election-year campaign coverage from the network's state-of-the-art Capitol Hill studio. He also conducts interviews with the nation's leaders and reports on breaking news and events for the network. Following his arrival at Comcast, Traynham assisted in the development of Roll Call with Robert Traynham, a weekly Sunday political chat program created in collaboration with the prestigious political daily Roll Call. Traynham acts as the program's host and moderator. His Senate career highlights include serving as President of the United States Senate Press Secretaries Association, a nonpartisan association of Senate communication professionals, and holding top roles inside the leadership offices. Traynham teaches strategy and message development courses at George Washington University as an Associate Professorial Lecturer. He formerly taught political communication courses as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University. Traynham graduated from the Cheyney University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in political science. George Mason University awarded him a master's degree in political communication. Traynham also serves on the Council of Trustees for Cheyney University, the nation's oldest institution under the network of Historical Black Colleges and Universities, after being appointed by Pennsylvania's governor. He was recognized as an outstanding HBCU alumnus by the Thurgood Marshall Foundation in 2003.
