Robert Polet Biography

Robert Polet is President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Gucci Group, the third-largest luxury group in the world. It is owned by PPR, a leading consumer and luxury group.

Mr Polet joined Gucci Group in 2004, after a 26-year career at Unilever, where he worked in a wide variety of marketing and senior executive positions worldwide, including serving as president of Unilever’s Worldwide Ice Cream and Frozen Foods division, a $7.8 billion business consisting of over 40 operating companies.

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Polet, a Dutch national, studied business administration at Nijenrode in the Netherlands and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Oregon in the United States. He also attended the Harvard AMP program in 1996. Mr. Polet is married with two daughters. His pastimes include sailing, cycling and producing olive oil.
