Rivers & Robots Biography

British Christian indie-rock band from Manchester, England, known as Rivers & Robots started as a solo project of Jonathan Ogden with the aim of launching worship songs with a gifted sound, often based directly on psalms or Bible passages, and mostly produced at home with a keyboard, guitar and laptop. Their name was coined from the combination of electronic and acoustic instruments used in recording. The project grew into a full live band with the help of Jonathan, going on to record four-piece albums in 2012. Since then, the band has had the opportunity to travel to many different cities around the UK, Asia and in Europe on mission trips and led worship. On May 20, 2016, The Eternal Son which is the band’s fourth studio album was released. Rivers & Robots released Discovery, their fifth album which featured the single ‘Dreams’ in 2018. Nathan Stirling (bass, vocals), Caleb Choo (drums), Ogden (vocals, guitar, keys), and Philip Shibata (guitar), make up the band and now live as missionaries; spending their time leading worship in festivals, clubs, churches, clubs, and hosting monthly worship nights in venues around Manchester while running a non-profit organization which aims to raise up creative worship and art in the UK known as Set Sail.
