Richard Stieglitz Biography

Dick Stieglitz is a change management expert with over three decades of experience making change work in large companies and government agencies. He obtained a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Stieglitz served as a naval officer for ten years, refueling nuclear submarines during the Cold War. After leaving the Navy, he worked in Washington D.C. for a consulting firm and later as Vice President for a software development company and Director of Defense Consulting at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. In 1984, Stieglitz founded RGS Associates Inc.. This consulting firm helps government agencies change business by implementing new computer and communication systems. He grew the company through constantly evolving markets and the birth of the world wide web. In 2006, he sold his ownership interests in the company to his management team and equity investors. Currently, he coaches executives in leading their organizations through change and growth. He also speaks and delivers workshops at government and industry forums on integrating change and new technologies to produce effective business relationships. Stieglitz has written three books on the subject of change management, including "Expensive Mistakes When Buying & Selling Companies -- And How to Avoid Them in Your Deals," "Taming The Dragons of Change -- 10 Tips For Achieving Success & Happiness When Everything Around You is Changing," and "Taming The Dragons of Change In Business -- 10 Tips For Anticipating, Embracing and Using Change To Achieve Success." He also co-authored "Leadership Conversations: Challenging High Potential Managers to Become Great Leaders" with Alan Berson.
