Richard Rogers Biography

Richard L. Rogers served as the College for Creative Studies (CCS) president from 1994 to 2008. During his tenure, Rogers helped transform CCS into one of the country's top art and design schools, expanding the curriculum and campus facilities and increasing enrollment. Before joining CCS, Rogers held leadership positions at several other higher education institutions, including serving as the vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas at El Paso and the dean of the School of Art and Design at Alfred University New York. He also had a successful career as an artist and designer, exhibiting his works in numerous galleries and museums across the United States. Rogers held a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Alfred University and a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
