Rex Archer is a highly experienced physician and public health official currently serving as the Director of Health for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. With over 35 years of experience in the field, he began his career as a Medical Epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta before taking leadership positions with the Missouri Department of Health and the St. Louis Health Department. Dr. Archer has also previously served as the Director of the Kansas City Health Department. Throughout his career, he has been a passionate advocate for public health policies and practices, especially in addressing health disparities and promoting healthy living in underserved communities. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Preventive Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
