Renzo Vitale Biography

Renzo Vitale is a composer and scientist with a diverse range of works, including dance theater, installation pieces, and virtual reality experiences. His solo works often explore the vulnerable states of the human condition, touching on themes such as emotional gravities and disorders. As a researcher, he specializes in architectural acoustics, psychoacoustics, vehicle acoustics, and music communication. Vitale holds a Ph.D. in Acoustics from RWTH Aachen University and two master's degrees in electronic engineering and piano performance, and has studied electronic music composition and conducting. He has previously conducted research at various institutions, including the Institute of Technical Acoustics in Aachen, Pratt Institute in New York, and KTH in Stockholm. In 2015, Vitale joined the Research and Innovation Center of BMW Group as a Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) engineer. Since 2017, he has been designing the sounds of electric vehicles. His innovative approach, sound genetics, has created a new generation of sounds. This approach defines the aesthetic space of sounds, enabling him to generate soundscapes that bring abstract worlds to life through sound.
