In 1975, Koolhaas founded the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam, along with Elia Zenghelis, Zoe Zenghelis, and Madelon Vriesendorp. He has written several influential books on architecture and urbanism, including "Delirious New York" and "S, M, L, XL," which he co-authored with Bruce Mau. Koolhaas received numerous awards for his contributions to architecture, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2000, the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2004, and the Praemium Imperiale from the Japan Art Association in 2003.
