Reggie Fils-Aime is a former president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, a subsidiary of the Japanese video game company Nintendo. He earned a degree in applied economics from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Fils-Aime began his career in the consumer packaged goods industry, holding various management positions at companies such as Procter & Gamble, Pizza Hut, and Guinness. In 2003, he joined Nintendo of America as executive vice president of sales and marketing, where he helped to launch the Nintendo DS and Wii consoles. In 2006, Fils-Aime was promoted to president and COO, becoming the first American to hold this position at Nintendo. He was responsible for overseeing all operations of Nintendo of America, including sales, marketing, product development, and logistics. Under Fils-Aime's leadership, Nintendo of America experienced tremendous success, with the Wii becoming the best-selling console of its generation and the Nintendo DS becoming the best-selling handheld gaming system of all time.
