Rebecca Leigh Mader is an English actress best known for her performances as Charlotte Lewis on ABC's Lost and Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West on ABC's Once Upon a Time. Mader began her career as a model in New York City, where she appeared in advertisements for L'Oréal, Colgate, and Wella Hair for a year. Mader began her television career as Morgan Gordon on the ABC daytime serial opera All My Children and as Margaret Cochran on One Life to Live. In 2003, she had an appearance on the soap series Guiding Light. Mader debuted as anthropologist Charlotte Lewis in the ABC series Lost in 2008. Charlotte, who was debuted on the mystery island hanging from a tree - upside down - in the show's fourth season-opening, allowed the actress to play up her adventurous tomboy side, something she had always wanted to do. She featured in three episodes of the show between 2008 and 2009, as well as two episodes in 2010. Mader made her theatrical debut as Barrie in the one-act comedy The Third Date at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2013. Mader's next major part came in December 2013, when she was cast as the Wicked Witch of the West, a new adversary on Once Upon a Time for the second half of the third season. She also made guest appearances in the second half of the fourth season before being elevated to a series regular for the fifth and sixth seasons before reappearing for part of season seven, including the series finale Leaving Storybrooke. Mader started the At Home with Sean and Bex interview series on YouTube with Once Upon a Time co-star Sean Maguire in May 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown in California.
