Rami George Khouri is a journalist, editor, and commentator on Middle Eastern affairs. He received his BA and MSc in political science and mass communication from Syracuse University, New York. He started his journalistic career as a foreign correspondent in Beirut in the 1970s. Khouri has worked for several newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, and served as editor-in-chief of the Jordan Times from 1975 to 1977. He was the executive editor of The Daily Star in Lebanon from 1999 to 2011 and has been a columnist for the Agence Global syndicate since 2002. Khouri is known for his insightful analysis of Middle Eastern politics and culture. He has frequently commented on CNN, BBC, and Al Jazeera. He has also written several books, including "The Arab-Israeli Dilemma" and "The Great War for Civilization: The Conquest of the Middle East." Khouri has received numerous awards for his journalism, including the Pax Christi International Peace Award in 2006 and the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press in 2012. He is a senior fellow at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut.
