Raffaella Sadun Biography

Raffaella Sadun, an Italian economist, is the Charles E. Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, co-chair of the Project on Managing the Future of Work, and co-PI of the Digital Reskilling Lab. With a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics, her research examines the managerial and organizational drivers of productivity in both the private and public sectors, including healthcare and education. She co-founded the World Management Survey, the Executive Time Use Study, and MOPS-H, a hospital management survey, in collaboration with the US Census Bureau. Her work, published in The Quarterly Journal of Economics and American Economic Review, highlights how management practices impact firm performance. Sadun received Italy’s Grande Ufficiale dell’Ordine in 2021 and the 2022 Fondazione de Sanctis Prize. She advises organizations globally and serves as the director of the NBER's Organizational Economics Working Group.
