Denhollander was the first woman to publicly accuse Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor, of sexual abuse. She filed a criminal complaint in 2016, sparking a wave of over 200 more women coming forward with similar allegations. Denhollander's bravery in coming forward helped to bring Nassar to justice and shed light on the larger issue of sexual abuse in sports. Denhollander has since become a prominent advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and has spoken at events nationwide. She has also written a book about her experiences, titled "What Is a Girl Worth? My Story of Breaking the Silence and Exposing the Truth about Larry Nassar and USA Gymnastics." She graduated from Calvin College and the Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy.
