Pusha T Biography

Pusha T, a member of the Clipse hip-hop group, was born Terrence Thornton in the Bronx but grew up in Virginia Beach with his brother Gene Thornton. The brothers founded Clipse in the early 1990s under the moniker Malice, rapidly forging a rapport with Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes and starting on a career that would include major-label record agreements and critically acclaimed albums. The pair stated in 2010 that they would be taking a sabbatical to pursue individual careers. In the same year, Pusha would sign with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label and appear on his new label boss's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In 2011, he released the Fear of God street-level mixtape and its official sequel, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray, both under G.O.O.D. Records. Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, and others had guest appearances on his official debut album, My Name Is My Name, which was released in 2013. The Untouchable single, as well as the album King Push - Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, were released in 2015. King Push reached number twenty on the Billboard 200 and number three on the R&B/hip-hop chart. In 2017, the rapper collaborated with Linkin Park (Good Goodbye) and Gorillaz on songs (Let Me Out).
