Princess Rym Ali is the Algerian wife of Prince Ali bin Hussein of Jordan, whom she married in 2004. A former journalist, she worked for major outlets like CNN, BBC, Dubai TV, Bloomberg TV, and United Press International. Educated in the UK, Algeria, France, and the US, she holds a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from the Sorbonne, an M.Phil. in Political Science from Institut d’Etudes Politiques, and a Master’s from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. She founded the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) in 2007, a non-profit focused on journalism education, and has been Executive Commissioner of the Royal Film Commission–Jordan since 2005. She has also presided over the Amman International Film Festival since 2017 and the Anna Lindh Foundation since 2021.
