Peter Shiao is a prominent film industry figure known for his work as a producer, entrepreneur, and innovator. He has a strong film finance and production background, focusing on bridging the gap between Hollywood and China. Shiao is the CEO and founder of Immersive Artistry, a company focused on creating cutting-edge transmedia experiences. The company is currently working on a major action-fantasy franchise called The Legend of 18, which includes a $40 million film, online properties, and games. This project represents the first cross-border transmedia project between Hollywood and China. Over the next three years, Immersive Artistry is set to deliver 10 major titles in partnership with top media and entertainment companies. Before founding Immersive Artistry, Shiao founded Ironpond, a film finance and production company in partnership with the US's China Film Group and Endgame Entertainment. Ironpond was the first company to establish a private equity-style fund in the People's Republic of China to finance films and media. Shiao produced the first official US-Chinese film co-production, Restless, under Ironpond. In addition to his work with Immersive Artistry and Ironpond, Shiao chairs the annual US-China Film Summit with the Asia Society, the Motion Picture Association, the Producer's Guild of America, and the China Film Co-Production Corporation. He also chairs the Entertainment and Media programs (EMASIA) for the Asia Society of Southern California. Shiao is known for his pioneering work in transmedia storytelling and immersive experiences.
