Paula Boggs Biography

Paula Boggs is the founder of Boggs Media, LLC, a business that manages her music, speaking, and other creative business activities. She is a Musician, Public Speaker, Writer and Lawyer.

For a decade Boggs served as chief legal officer and board secretary at Starbucks Corporation. Her prior professional experience includes working in the technology sector, Big Law, as a federal prosecutor, and eight years as a Regular Officer in the United States Army, with stints in the Pentagon and White House, earning Army Airborne wings and a Congressional appointment to the US Naval Academy – among America’s first women to do so.

Boggs is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. She was also an adjunct professor at the University of Washington School of Law.

Since leaving Starbucks, Boggs has volunteered for a presidential campaign, is a sought after public/TedX©️ speaker, and serves currently on the boards of Avid Technology, Inc (NASDAQ) and Seattle Symphony. President Obama appointed her to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities where she served until 2017 and in 2018 she received the Seattle Mayor’s Arts Award.

Boggs has written and recorded three studio albums with “Seattle-Brewed Soulgrass”™️ Paula Boggs Band, tours extensively, owns several U.S. Copyrights and the band’s music appears currently in both a documentary and independent film. Boggs is a Voting Member of the Recording Academy, Pacific Northwest Chapter and the band is sponsored by Deering Banjos, Breedlove Guitars and Radial Engineering, Inc. Paula Boggs Band releases EP “The Electrokitty Sessions” in June 2020.
