Paul Pugh Biography

Paul Pugh is an award-winning designer and innovator. Paul and his teams have put many millions of products in market and he has been part of developing the product vision, strategy and design for top-tier companies including Amazon, Under Armour, HP, Nokia, Microsoft, and AT&T. He has built from scratch design studios and overseen large design organizations and global teams. He has lead the design of hardware and software and understands both manufacturing and software development.

At frog, as Vice President of Creative, Paul oversaw frog's global software innovation practice which included advancing the design discussion, driving future vision, and mentoring teams across frog's global studio network. At Amazon, Paul oversaw the Kindle design team including Kindle Reader, Fire Phone, and Fire TV.

Currently Paul is the Vice President of Connected Fitness Products for Under Armour. Paul oversee’s Under Armour’s wearable and connected apparel strategy, design and product development. He oversaw the development of five new products launched at the 2016 CES show in Las Vegas including UA Healthbox and the Speedform Gemini II connected running shoe, products receiving “Best of Show" accolades in the press.

Paul is a frequent speaker and commentator on consumer electronics. He has presented about the future of mobile, at the HarvardX conference to discuss the state of design, provided commentary at CES for TheVerge.com. Paul was recently featured in Wired Magazine in conjunction with the launch of Under Armour’s Healthbox. Paul presented his personal views on design through his own airplane concept at the 2014 Tokyo Designer Week.

Paul has founded three companies: Mediatruck (1997), a venture-backed software tools and consulting company, Handwire (2002) a boutique software design and development firm and Paul Pugh Design (2013). Previously Paul worked for Texas Monthly, Apple Computer and in the Architecture profession; he has a degree in Environmental Design.
