Paul Pearsall Biography

A ten times international best-selling author, Dr. Pearsall blends his extensive professional, research, and teaching experience with his background as a musician, along with his life and work in Hawaii, to present unique and memorable “edu-concerts” and speeches. As a result, he is one of the most frequently requested speakers among Fortune 500 companies including EDS, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Digital Corporation. A licensed clinical “psychoneuroimmunologist,” or specialist in the study of the healing mind, Dr. Pearsall holds a Ph.D. in clinical and educational psychology. He received the Distinguished Scholar award and graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan. He earned his Masters and Doctoral degrees at Wayne State University and did post-graduate training at Harvard Medical School, the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, the University of Colorado Medical School, and Indiana University where he was Director of Professional Education at the Kinsey Institute.

Dr. Pearsall has published over 100 professional articles and 10 international best-selling books. His most recent book is entitled, The Heart’s Code, and deals with the cellular memories of donors as reported by heart transplant recipients. His next book, tentatively titled Wishing Well: Fulfilling your Hearts Desire, has been endorsed by Disney and is scheduled for publication in early 2000.

As founder and former director of a large psychiatric clinic at Sinai Hospital, he received the Rush Gold Medal Award from the American Psychological Association for his work in preventive medicine. He is former adjunct professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University Medical School, and he has won the “Teacher of the Year” award numerous times. Dr. Pearsall is a regular guest on national television and radio, including Good Morning America, Oprah, CNN, MSNBC, Montel Williams, and Leeza.
