Paul Marcarelli Biography

Paul Marcarelli is most recognizable from his many years as an actor in commercials. Since 2002, he has appeared in hundreds of national commercials for Verizon Wireless, portraying the ubiquitous Test Man character, whose oft-repeated catchphrase earned him the dubious honor of being named the Most Intriguing Pitchman of 2002 by Entertainment Weekly. A founding member of the non-profit theater company Mobius Group, he was involved in the New York staging of the lesser-known works of playwrights like Warren Leight, Eric Bogosian, and Richard Nelson. The Mobius production of Elmer Rice's The Adding Machine took home the Award for Overall Excellence at The New York International Fringe Festival in 2001, the festival's highest honor. Marcarelli produced the sold-out and critically-acclaimed New York productions of Bridezilla Strikes Back, and Semi-Permanent, both winners of the Award for Outstanding Solo Show at the Fringe Festival in 2005 and 2007 respectively. The 2011 feature film The Green, which he wrote and co-produced through his company Table Ten Films won dozens of festival honors including several best narrative feature awards and is being distributed by Cinetic/Filmbuff. Marcarelli has been a guest lecturer at The Atlantic Theater Company's Acting School, Fairfield University, and at Yale University's Saybrook College, as well as serving as a national juror for USA Film Festival in Dallas. His writing has also appeared in The Huffington Post. Table Ten is in post-production with Marcarelli's dark comedy "Clutter," starring Carol Kane, Joshua Leonard, Natasha Lyonne, Halley Feiffer, Kathy Najimy, Daniel London and Dan Hedaya.
