Nicolas Bouzou Biography

Nicolas Bouzou is an economist. He is the founder and director of the consulting firm Asterès. He is also professor of Economics in the University of Paris II Assas. He is the author of several best selling books. He is an occasional contributor to major French economic newspapers. He can be heard or seen frequently on the radio or television.

He graduated in economics from the University Paris X Nanterre and Sciences Po Paris. He spent six years as chief analyst and forecasts of the institute Xerfi. He has since founded his own company, Asterès, an organization of economic and financial analysis.

He also teaches microeconomics at the University of Paris VII and is a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris.

In 2007 he published in Eyrolles Petit précis d'économie appliquée à l'usage du citoyen pragmatique. He argues about the false reasons for the apathy of the French economy and underlines the structural reasons : over-regulation of economic activity by omnipotent state that penalizes economic growth and wealth creation that could benefit all. He is seen as one of the young economics that are in favour of a classic liberal economy. His book was awarded the prestigious Prix Turgot of 2008.
