Nancy Tengler Biography

Nancy Tengler, author of The Women’s Guide to Successful Investing, is the Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President of the Heartland Financial USA, Inc.  Tengler is a financial ambassador for women and has started a Women’s Financial Forum Series in several Heartland subsidiary cities in an effort to empower women in investing in the stock market.

She is a regularly featured guest on CNBC’s Closing Bell and Power Lunch as well PBS’s Nightly Business Report.  Her recent media appearances also include FOX Business Network’s After The Bell and Making Money with Charles Payne.

Other media includes, frequent guest spots on CNBC’s Kudlow & Co. and many years as a regular guest host on CNBC’s Squawk Box.  Tengler has also been featured on CNN, CBS, NBC, Bloomberg TV and Bloomberg Radio. She has been frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The Economist, Forbes and Money Magazine.  Tengler has previously been featured in the coveted Barron’s cover interview and named one of Money Magazine’s Best Women Investors.

In the Phoenix, Arizona area she has made regular appearances as a financial expert on Good Morning Arizona as well as on CBS5, NBC12, ABC15, FOX10 and the national lifestyle show, The List.  Tengler has been featured numerous times in The Phoenix Business Journal including and executive profile piece focusing on her work with educating women on investing.

In addition to The Women’s Guide to Successful Investing, she has also published two investment books: NEW ERA VALUE INVESTING–Wiley Finance Series and RELATIVE DIVIDEND YIELD, first edition, which she co-authored.  She is a former columnist with The Arizona Republic and publishes a blog entitled Your Financial IQ.

In 2009, she received an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction from St. Mary’s College and was the recipient of the James Townsend Scholarship for Excellence in Creative Writing as well as the MFA Advisory Board Scholarship for Literary Excellence.  In 2009 and 2010 Tengler was named fellow finalist and scholarship winner for The Prague Summer Workshop. Hired as a lecturer at St. Mary’s College in 2010, she was then recruited to the MFA Advisory Board in January 2012.
