Mo Rocca Biography
Mo Rocca has been a correspondent for “CBS Sunday Morning” since 2011. He joined the broadcast as a contributor in 2006.
Rocca is also the host of “The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation,” part of CBS’s Saturday morning lineup of educational/informational programming. He’s the creator and host of “My Grandmother’s Ravioli” on Cooking Channel. And he’s a panelist on NPR’s hit weekly quiz show, “Wait, Wait ... Don’t Tell Me!”
Mo got his start in television as a writer and producer for the PBS children’s series “Wishbone.” He went on to write for The Jim Henson Company’s “Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss” on Nickelodeon and ABC’s animated series “Pepper Ann.” He won a primetime Emmy as a writer for the 64th Annual Tony Awards in 2010.
On camera he spent four seasons as a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” during which he covered the 2000 election (“Indecision 2000”). He was Larry King’s floor correspondent during the 2004 conventions, and later spent four seasons as a correspondent for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
As an actor Mo starred on Broadway in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and as Doody in the Southeast Asia tour of the musical “Grease.” He was Ted Willoughby, a recurring character, on the CBS drama “The Good Wife.”
He’s the author of “All The Presidents’ Pets: The Story of One Reporter Who Refused to Roll Over” (Crown 2004) and the host of the feature-length documentary on voting in America, “Electoral Dysfunction” (2012).
Rocca is a graduate of Harvard University, where he served as President of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
