Miriam Horn Biography

Miriam Horn has authored or co-authored three books including the best-seller Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming and Rancher Farmer Fisherman: Conservation Heroes of the American Heartland. Horn produced a film based on the latter book that premiered at Sundance and airs on Discovery in August 2017. She previously spent two decades writing for The New York Times The New Republic U.S. News and World Report and other publications. Her first job was with the US Forest Service in Colorado doing timber management trail construction and education.Horn worked for the U.S. Forest Service on timber management mine reclamation and education before becoming a journalist. She spent 15 years writing for U.S. News and World Report The New York Times Smithsonian and other publications before joining EDF.Ms. Horn holds a BA magna cum laude from Harvard University and did two years of post-baccalaureate study in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University. She was a Japan Society Media Fellow and in 2012 her team won the Zayed Future Energy Prize.
