Mike Rencheck Biography

In March 2012, Mike Rencheck was named president and chief executive officer of AREVA Inc. North America. Mike was named Chief Operating Officer of AREVA Inc. in January 2010 as part of the company's new global structure. Mike joined AREVA as President and CEO of AREVA NP Inc. in January 2009. He guided AREVA NP Inc. through a successful turnaround, increasing performance, achieving profitability, and creating long-term development. With annual revenues of more than $1.3 billion, AREVA NP Inc. was the company's largest North American business segment. Mike was the Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of American Electric Power's Nuclear Generation Group prior to joining AREVA. Mike joined AEP in 1998 as VP of Nuclear Engineering and has since held positions such as Senior VP of Engineering, Projects and Field Services, Senior VP of Engineering, Technical and Environmental Services, and President of AEP ProServ, a wholly-owned engineering and field services subsidiary responsible for major power generation projects and outage management. Mike worked for Florida Power Corporation as Director, Nuclear Engineering and Projects for Crystal River Nuclear Station before joining AEP. Mike formerly served as the Director of Engineering at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station of Public Service Electric & Gas Company and the Beaver Valley Power Station of Duquesne Light Company. Mike graduated from Ohio Northern University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and Robert Morris University in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania with a master's degree in management and computer information systems. He is a Certified Senior Reactor Operator and a Professional Engineer in eight states, including Virginia.
