Michael A. Bell is Intel Corporation's corporate vice president and general manager of the Mobile and Communications Group. Bell co-leads a global organization focusing on the development of hardware, software, and connectivity elements for phones, tablets, Ultrabooks, and other mobile devices, as well as comprehensive system solutions, with Hermann Eul in his position. Bell was a member of Palm's top management team before joining Intel in 2010. He was the senior vice president of product development from 2007 until 2010. He was in charge of all areas of product strategy, development, and deployment, and was instrumental in bringing the Palm Pre, Palm Pixi, and a slew of other devices to market. Bell was a vice president in Apple's Macintosh Hardware Division prior to joining Palm. He made important contributions to the iMac, Apple TV, and iPhone projects during his time at Apple, which spanned 1991 to 2007. The Motorola StarTAC was Bell's first cellphone.
