Michael Redd is a professional basketball player from the United States. The Milwaukee Bucks selected him 43rd overall in the NBA Draft in 2000. He attended West High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he was born. He also played basketball for the United States national team. Redd, who is 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds, has played shooting guard in both his NCAA and professional careers. In 2011, the Phoenix Suns signed Redd to a one-year deal. In a defeat to the Cavaliers, Redd made his Phoenix debut, scoring 14 points. In early 2012, Redd returned to Milwaukee, scoring 14 points in a victory over the Bucks. The audience gave him a standing ovation. He set a season-best with 25 points in a win over the Houston Rockets later that year. Redd was a member of Team USA's junior team and competed in the 2007 FIBA Americas tournament, which served as a qualifier for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Redd established the qualification record for most three-pointers made in a single game during the team's game against Puerto Rico. He also broke Penny Hardaway's record of 22 three-pointers made in the tournament, setting a new mark of 28. After beating 2006 World Champion Spain and living up to their Redeem Squad title after losing out on the 2004 Summer Olympics, Redd was a member of the 2008 Olympic team that went undefeated on their route to earning back the gold medal. After signing his large deal at $91 million over six years, Redd, a devoted Christian, acquired a church building for his father's ministry as his first purchase. Built-in his birthplace of Columbus, the church was renamed Philadelphia Deliverance Church of Christ.
