He is the co-author of The Shadow President: The Truth About Mike Pence, a new book that tells the narrative of the most influential Christian Right politician in US history. The Truth About Trump, his last book, was praised by The New York Times as an "evenhanded but ultimately scathing" biography of America's 45th president. D'Antonio is a CNN political commentator and a frequently mentioned Trump analyst. D'Antonio has written for Politico, The Daily Beast, Salon, The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, and many other magazines, including the history of the Catholic sex abuse epidemic Mortal Sins and The State Boys Rebellion. He was a feature writer for Newsday and a Washington reporter for the Portland Press Herald, where he won the Pulitzer Prize for local reporting. For his Showtime feature Crown Heights, D'Antonio received the Alicia Patterson Fellowship, the First Amendment Award, and the Humanitas Award. Michael Raiten-D'Antonio, a psychotherapist, lecturer, and author, was born and reared in New Hampshire, where he covered his first political campaign in 1976. He now resides on Long Island with his wife Toni Raiten-D'Antonio.
