Melissa Francis joined FOX Business Network (FBN) in January 2012 as an anchor, and she and David Asman co-host After The Bell (weekdays 2-3 PM/ET). Francis formerly worked as a co-anchor on CNBC's Power Lunch and The Call before joining FBN. Francis became the first reporter to broadcast live from the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange when she joined CNBC in 2003, giving hourly updates for the network and establishing herself as the leading commodity specialist. Francis was a journalist for CNET's television section before joining CNBC, where she covered finance, technology, and consumer items. Francis worked as a reporter for News 12 New Jersey and as an anchor for a number of New England television stations in Hartford, Manchester, and Providence prior to joining CNET. She also worked as a researcher for the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour and as a producer for NBC Portland's WCSH-TV. Francis graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in economics.
