Martyn Parker Biography

Martyn Parker was appointed as Chairman Global Partnerships with effect from February 2012 and is a member of the Group Management Board. Martyn Parker was appointed as CEO Reinsurance Asia and Regional President Asia and joined the Executive Committee with effect from 1 January 2012. He became CEO of Swiss Re's Asia Division on 1 June 2006. From his Hong Kong base he oversaw Swiss Re's rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific business which covers both the Property & Casualty as well as the Life & Health sectors. He continued to serve as a member of the Group Management Board which he joined in September 2005 as Global Head of Life and Health Products. In April 2001 he was named CEO of Swiss Re Life and Health UK and was responsible for the UK and Ireland. In 1996 following Swiss Re's acquisition of Mercantile and General Re (M&G Re) Martyn Parker became a Member of the Swiss Re Life & Health Executive Board responsible for Africa the Middle East Israel and the Indian Subcontinent and was based in Cape Town South Africa as Managing Director of Swiss Re Life & Health.
