Mark Uhran Biography

Mark Uhran was the Assistant Associate Administrator for the International Space Station at NASA headquarters where he was responsible for program-wide cost schedule and performance oversight. He also led NASA's effort to operate the space station as a US National Laboratory in the post-assembly phase. Uhran has been a leader in determining practical applications of orbital space stations since 1984 when he began evaluating mission requirements for the NASA space station during the concept phase. He has held key management positions in both the private and public sectors and has traveled worldwide developing strategies for use of the International Space Station (ISS). Uhran is currently engaged in strategic communications for ITER -- an international partnership to build a 500 megawatt industrial scale hydrogen fusion reactor in southern France. He holds a BS from Cornell University an MS from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University. He is also an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
