Mark Divine Biography

With an MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business and a degree in economics from Colgate University, upstate New York native Mark Divine started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouse Coopers). His clients involved luminous financial firms such as Paine Weber and Solomon Brothers. Mark left the corporate world to pursue his dream of becoming an elite Navy SEAL officer after four years of joining Coopers. He graduated as honor-man (#1 ranked trainee) of his SEAL BUD/s class number 170 at 26. On active duty, Mark served for a total of nine years and served as a Reserve SEAL for eleven years before he retired in 2011 as a Commander. In 1996, Mark embarked on his third career as an entrepreneur by founding the web e-commerce site www.NavySEALs.com and by co-founding the successful Coronado Brewing Company (CBC). He sold his interest in CBC later on but continues to run NavySEALs.com as the leading web site for information about the SEALs and also for gear. He launched US Tactical, a government contracting business in 2006 where he gained contracts with the Navy Recruiting Command for a nationwide mentoring program for SEAL trainees and with the Naval Special Warfare Group ONE for training support. The program for SEAL trainees was credited with reducing the attrition rate at BUD/s by up to 5% and increasing the quality of Navy SEAL candidates and was also the inspiration for SEALFIT. At the University of San Diego, Mark was an adjunct professor of leadership where he had to leave a PHD program due to the Iraq war Reserve call up. In 2004 in Baghdad with the SEALs again, he conducted a special study for the DOD on the role of the USMC in the Special Operations Community. He decided to focus fully on his family and business on returning home. Mark is a successful martial artist with black belts in Goju Ryu Karate and Seido, senior ranking in Saito Nijutsu and a military hand to hand combat certification in SCARS. As a teacher trained in Ashtanga Yoga, he created the innovative Unbeatable Warrior Yoga program which he teaches to his students. In 2011, Mark self-published his first book Unbeatable after working with many professionals and special ops candidates developing mental toughness and launched the at-home study program www.unbeatablemind.com He is also the author of 8 Weeks to SEALFIT published by St. Martins Press and The Way of the SEAL published by Readers Digest. The program SEALFIT is very effective at developing top level mental toughness and physical fitness. The program has assisted numerous individuals to operate at an entirely new level in their professional and personal lives, and it is also used by sheepdog-like professionals of all stripes worldwide, first responders and the military.
