Born in Decatur, Alabama on October 17th 1956 Mae Jemison has forged a path, in the realms of science medicine and space exploration Her journey is a testament to determination achievement and shattering boundaries.  In 1992 on September 12th Mae became the African American woman to journey into space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour after earning a Chemical Engineering degree from Stanford University and a Doctor of Medicine degree, from Cornell University and working as a general practitioner while engaging in medical research before joining NASA in 1987.  Following her tenure at NASA Mae established the Jemison Group,a tech consultancy that blends socio concerns with tech advancement.She also founded the Dorothy Jemison Foundation for Excellence supporting educational initiatives such as The Earth We Share,international science camp, for students.  Meet Mae.
