About Lou Reed
Lou Reed Biography
Ed Reed, a free safety with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League, was born on September 11, 1978. He was a two-time All-American at the University of Miami where he played collegiate football. The Baltimore Ravens selected him 24th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft, and he has spent his whole professional career with the team. Reed was named to nine Pro Bowls throughout his career, won the 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, and holds the NFL record for the two longest interception returns. He also owns the record for most interception return yards in the NFL, with 1,506. He is regarded as one of the most formidable safeties in the NFL right now. Reed has been noted in the NFL for his ability to study video to memorize other teams' patterns, as well as his ability to entice quarterbacks into throwing interceptions, since his debut. He is frequently regarded to be one of the top three all-time safeties. Despite rumors that he could retire, Reed indicated on January 24, 2013, that he plans to play next year. In Super Bowl XLVII, the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31, giving Reed his first Super Bowl ring. Reed tied the NFL record with his tenth career postseason interception against Colin Kaepernick in that game. It was also the 49ers' first Super Bowl interception and defeat. Reed's contract with the team came to an end at the end of the 2013 season. Reed revealed after the Super Bowl that he expects to continue playing football in 2013. He had pondered retiring after the 2012 season. Reed has 13 scores in his career, including three blocked punts, one punt return, two fumble returns, and seven interception returns.
