Lonnie's learning disability made him an easy target for ridicule by teachers, classmates, and even family members. Poverty and abuse made his home life unbearable. A young man with little hope, he suffered from depression and eventually attempted suicide.

When Lonnie found Christ, he discovered the hope and acceptance that he craved. His life transformed into a testimony of God's redemption and grace -- the testimony of an overcomer. Lonnie explains, "God gave me the courage to believe I could accomplish whatever I set my heart and mind to." Through the support of a few teachers and counselors, Lonnie was able to achieve academic success and go on to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness.

Today, he is Director of Safety and Training for a national company, recently named the World's Most Admired in Diversified Outsourcing. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership.
